Bungie’s next Exraction Shooter
MARATHON
Marathon was a first-person shooter (FPS) video game developed and published by Bungie in 1994 for the Apple Macintosh. It’s notable for being one of the first FPS games to feature a rich narrative, advanced AI, and networked multiplayer—elements that would later influence Bungie’s later work, especially the Halo series.
Marathon The Game, is Bungie’s re-release of this first person shooter game. I highly suspect that this game is being aimed for the eSports Arenas. It takes a lot of what was good from the past, and fuses it with what is good now.
The release date for this next version of Marathon is Sept 23, 2025 and it will be one of the best video game launches in modern history.
Tau Ceti IV
Tau Ceti IV is a fictional planet in the Marathon video game series by Bungie. It serves as the setting for much of the original Marathon (1994) game.
It is a habitable planet orbiting the real-world star Tau Ceti, located about 12 light-years from Earth.
The Tau System similar to our sun but older and has been a popular setting in science fiction because of its proximity to Earth and its potentially stable planetary system. While real astronomers have proposed that Tau Ceti might have rocky planets in its habitable zone, “Tau Ceti IV” is purely fictional—there’s no confirmed real planet by that name.
The “For the Greater Good” actually comes from the Warhammer 40k Universe.
